Project MKSEA Pty Ltd (MKSEA) engaged Insight Project Services (Insight) to oversee and project manage the design and construction of the new Silk Logistics Distribution Facility, which is the second major industrial facility constructed in the Roe Highway Logistics Park Kewdale.

The site is 40,344m² and the new facility has been designed specifically to suit the bespoke operational requirements of the Tenant.

The facility consists of a 21,000m² warehouse facility inclusive of amenities and dock office. An office of 500m² will be provided and parking for 75 cars. The external hardstand comprises approximately 15,540m² of heavy-duty and light-duty concrete pavement. The facility stores more than 500,000 Litres of various classes of Dangerous Goods and includes ICB Diesel storage and Aerosol storage. Class 3 DG’s are stored in a fully racked and ESFR sprinkler protected portion of the Warehouse.  Rainwater harvesting and a roof top 100kW solar PV array are included in the scope of works.

Silk’s requirements have been incorporated into the design from inception with racking, loose furniture, security, IT,
WIFI services all being delivered under the Head Contract with Q Design and Construct.
